Get out your Mirrors!
Mirror shots started trending on Instagram around April-May, and even though we’re in August you can still use your trusty mirror for photo shoots. Check out the mirror shots below to see all the things you can do with your mirror.
1. @leoniehanne
BLOG: ohhcouture.com
Leonie Hanne, a German fashion influencer based in London is one of my favourite bloggers of all time. Leonie along with her Insta Husband Alexander (@alex.galievsky) exude creativity in everything they do coming up with the creative Instagram posts, videos, whether it be on TikTok or on Reels. Check out her profile to see the different ways you can use a mirror for shoots on Instagram.

Another personal favourite is Tara Whiteman. Tara is a creative and travel influencer from Australia, who showcases her travels across the world through her beautiful and perfectly organized rainbow inspired feed. She's been an unwavering source of inspiration and creativity for me and I'm sure she'll be one for you as well. Being confined at home has done nothing more than bring out the creative in her which I'm sure as you can see in the post below. How many mirror pictures have you seen like this?
3. @mossonyi
BLOG: https://mossonyi.com/
Onyi Moss is a Nigerian influencer based in Manchester, and one I adore for her creativity and her deep talks of life lessons she's learned over the years. Very different from the bloggers you'll find on Instagram, her dramatic poses and coffee diaries are more than enough to get you hooked on her content. Hop onto her page for mirror pictures, a journey filled with wisdom and 100% original inspirational quotes you wish you had thought of.
Ah, the Scent of Flowers
Flowers are great, if you’re not allergic to them. Discover all the creative ways you can use flowers in order to get the perfect Instagram picture.
1. @jujujucloe
PORTFOLIO: @ordinaryfolks.co
Singaporean based creative Juju Cloe, is the founder of @ordinaryfolks.co, a platform curated and I quote " to provide digital content creation, social media marketing, photography & videography, graphic design, copywriting" for different brands they collaborate with. Give her a trend and she'll innovate with her "spell of sunshine" coming up with brilliant ideas that make her trend inspired videos that much better. Her flower wall picture below is the perfect demonstration of her additional "spell of sunshine" working its magic. Explore her page to see what other wonders she's been up to.
WEBSITE: https://ricejasminee.co/
Another Singaporean based influencer I closely follow is Rice Jasminee. She excels in finding creative ways to showcase her innate passion for photography and fashion.
During these uncertain times Rice Jasminee finds new and fashionable ways to show off her sense of style while staying at home. Easily capable of making you envy her wardrobe, her imagination to produce works of art with her fashion pieces are going to make you wish you were her! Press "view profile" at your own risk.

Health lifestyle enthusiast from Liberia, Deddeh Howard (DD) is doing some amazing things on Instagram and in real life. Founder of the @blackmirrorproject, a project dedicated to showcasing people of colour in a positive light but to also fight the underrepresentation of black people in the modelling industry. Take a look at her blog, Deddeh Howard, for more information on this eye-opening project about representation and the lack thereof for minorities.
Very active at home, Deddeh is still on top of trends as seen below with her colourful bouquet of flowers. Take a look at her profile for flower inspiration and pick up a tip or two for a healthier lifestyle (her workouts are insane and awesome, go watch!!!).
Walls. Wallpapers. Blankets.
What a photography hack! Look around your house and find the place where the lighting will be perfect. If this place doesn’t have a wall or the wall can’t be photographed, you can grab a tablecloth long enough to cover the wall (should be long enough for you to have space to shoot like you want). You can also search for a platform (like a cupboard with doors) that allows you to throw over your blanket/ tablecloth and squeeze it by shutting the doors to prevent it from falling. Below are some ideas to inspire you to create your own pictures.

Asiyami Gold is a Nigerian storyteller and is hands down one of my favourite Instagram personalities ever! Blessed with creativity, innovative ideas, and incredible storytelling abilities, as seen her documentary Siddüm, she is undoubtedly an immense source of inspiration for her 325k followers, myself included.
She also has her very own outstanding and sophisticated handmade clothing line @shop.au, which recently dropped their new collection, Eela, meaning "wealth" in the Abua language in Souther Nigeria.
Just by glimpsing at her page you'll be able to see that each and every one of her posts is a testimony to her unending talent and originality.

Lee Litumbe, a Cameroonian & American national living in the beautiful city of Dakar in Senegal is another all time favourite influencer of mine. A constant source of inspiration, her work and travels are inarguably one of the main reasons I decided to join the movement of showcasing the often hidden and unspoken beauty of the African continent.
She greatly helps redefine Africa, changing the negative perspective the world has of the beautiful continent, leaving many wondering if it's the same "ill-fated" Africa they see on TV everyday. Lee Litumbe inspires others to join her journey and do likewise, whilst urging her followers want to catch the nearest flight to her latests destination with her pictures alone. Definitely check out her blog, Spirited Pursuit, and profile to see her home creativity and her breathtaking snaps of Kenya, Tanzania, and Senegal!

Last but definitely not least is Shea Marie who quickly became one of my top 5 favourite influencers, and she's currently showing coronavirus how 2020 is all about.
While most of us are wondering which Netflix show to watch, Shea Marie is grinding out stunning 2020 summer collections for @same. She even launched her plant-based skincare, body-care, and self-care products @thefeelist. This woman alone owns 3 brands! Chapeau.
Being the creative she is, Shea Marie not only launched a new Summer 2020 swimwear collection but she also launched her first ever swimwear collection for children @samesies! Mom's, now you and your little ones can bring home the best dressed award every time you go out to the beach without even having to try! If you haven't already, go check out her Instagram to see this unstoppable machine blow your mind with her work ethic and beautiful pictures.
That's it for Today
Whether you take a picture of yourself or choose to focus on accessorizing your props, the right colours and the right props will make for a great aesthetically pleasing photo. Stay tuned for ‘Instagram From Home #2’ in which I'll be sharing with you how to step up your Instagram videos and Reels for an interesting and unique Instagram feed.
